The designers create beautiful visual with the ideas coming from the Think Tank process of the Idea Maschine.
There are other design related tasks which the designer can pull before the workshop: e.g. invitations for participants,
headers for Idea Times.
A good idea design allows the user to understand the basic idea within 3 seconds.
Create positive images that transport the quality of the idea.
Less is more: don't overload your images, especially not with confusing details.
We need original rights to the images. So feel free to use sites providing royalty free images or purchase stock images or use existing images which the customer provides to you (make sure you have usage rights).
Get a good feeling of the customers brand world. Logo, image worlds, colors, typo.
Decide on a line for your ideas. What unites them?
Ideas need to be 2400 x 1350 px in PNG format. Please save the original files too (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator).
Please give all files the following names: number of idea e.g. 01 and than add the ending .png or .ps
You can find the upload folder for the designs in the workshop script.
The fonts and colors the customer uses
Different versions of the customer's logo, ideally with transparent background
Ideally you create a library for the assets, so you can reuse them
Setup a document template in Photoshop with
2400 x 1350px. Use this template for all ideas
Generate image assets is a very interesting tool for automatically exporting of png. Simply make a group and name it for instance 100% 01.png (if you're working on idea 1), add all your layers to the group and activate the check-box in → file → generate → images assets. A png will automatically be saved every time you change your ps file.
Don't spend too much time on one idea. If you're stuck move on and get back to the ones you were stuck with later. Talk to other team members to get feedback or inputs.
Save your work!
